2D animation is used to bring stories to life by using bitmap and/or vector based imagery created in computer software such as Photoshop
. The animation tends to appear more ‘flat’ as opposed to 3d animation
as the imagery is generated using only the X (horizontal) and Y (vertical) axes. The 2D imagery is then brought to life using computer software such as After Effects
Good animation takes people on a journey with their eyes and minds where imagination creates its own soundtrack that fits whatever mood or feeling they have about a particular moment in the animation. Animations can make people laugh, cry, think about things differently and move people in magnificent ways.
