Sound

Sound design is the process of creating or choosing sound effects for a movie, video game, television show, or other production.

There are two common types of sound design: Foley and sound effects. Foley sound effects are recordings of everyday objects that are then edited and mixed to create the desired sound.

For example, a sound designer mightrecord the sound of footsteps on different types of surfaces, then edit and mix those recordings to create the sound of footsteps for a character in a movie. Sound effects, on the other hand, are recorded sounds that already exist, such as the sound of a gunshot or Explosion.

A sound designer will choose the sound effect that best fits the scene and then edit it to fit the timing of the action on screen. Sound design is an important part of any production, as it can help to create a more immersive and realistic experience for the viewer.
