“Lest We Forget” is a short film using modern-day aerial footage filmed with a DJI Mavic Air 2 drone, combined with CGI and VFX, giving it a unique cine film look and feel.
Designed to commemorate the fallen men of Oldham and Saddleworth during the World War, 3D animated Lancaster Bombers, Spitfires, tanks, and poppy petals combine with the imagery shot from the skies above Pots & Pans war memorial overlooking Uppermill, Greenfield, and Saddleworth.
The grassy hills were given a blood-red appearance using special infra-red filters that symbolises the millions of lives lost in battle in the surrounding villages, towns and cities.
I also developed the theme into a series of high-resolution digital fine art prints which bring pleasure, meaning, and beauty to the walls of Saddleworth.
